World Textile Day - Scotland
An Exhibition of Costume, Creativity and Colour
Building on the success of World Textile Day Wales, I will be joining in on the first World Textile Day in Scotland. FREE admission for our exhibition of traditional costume and textiles - with six specialist world textile traders.
- Textile Techniques - Fine, hand-made textiles from around the world; gorgeous, unusual and original clothes; beads and silver hill tribe jewellery
- The African Fabric Shop - Hand-made batiks, wax prints and sun prints; recycled glass, brass, plastic and paper beads; jewellery, kits and patterns; fair trade baskets
- Susan Briscoe Designs - Japanese kimono and kimono fabrics; kits and patterns; Susan's sashiko and patchwork books
- John Gillow - World famous author, traveller, collector and lecturer; specialising in embroidered, woven and resist-dyed textiles from Asia and Africa; unique, vintage and collectable textiles
- Martin Conlan, Slow Loris Textiles - Indigo and vegatable-dyed clothing; Oriental and tribal clothing and textiles; expert on Chinese tribal minorities
- Kekfesto Cotton, Gilly Thomson - Hand-printed, blue dyed fabrics from Hungary
